Privacy Policy

Viewaro is provided by IT QUOTES, vl. Marina Blažon Bobinac ("Viewaro", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the Viewaro macOS application and the Viewaro support website handle information.

Summary

Viewaro is a bring-your-own-content IPTV player. It does not provide channels, movie or series catalogs, playlists, provider accounts, or media subscriptions. Source data and playback preferences are stored locally on your Mac. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell personal data.

If subscriptions are enabled in the version you use, Apple processes the payment and RevenueCat processes limited purchase and technical information to validate the purchase and determine whether Premium features are available.

Information stored on your Mac

Viewaro may store the following locally:

• source names, and the playlist, Xtream provider and Tvheadend server addresses you enter
• credentials or tokens contained in playlist addresses, and the usernames and passwords you enter for Xtream providers and Tvheadend servers
• imported channel, movie, series, season and episode catalog information, with the artwork addresses and descriptions your provider supplies
• downloaded TV guide data, and any guide address you enter
• favorites, watch progress, app settings and playback-related preferences
• an anonymous subscription identifier and cached entitlement state when subscriptions are enabled

Sensitive playlist addresses, provider and server accounts, and guide addresses are stored in an encrypted local vault. The vault key is protected by the macOS Keychain. This information is not sent to Viewaro or ITQuotes servers.

You can remove imported sources from within the app. macOS may retain Keychain items after an application is removed, so uninstalling the app is not a guaranteed method of erasing every Keychain item.

macOS system log

macOS can record the addresses of streams that Viewaro opens in the Mac's system log. Apple's own networking components write these entries, not Viewaro, and Viewaro cannot remove them. Xtream providers put your username and password in every stream address, and some playlists put a token or password in theirs; for those sources, the recorded address contains that account information.

The system log stays on your Mac. Anyone with an administrator account on that Mac can read it, and it is included in diagnostic reports that you choose to create and share, for example with Apple. Viewaro does not send the system log to us.

Network connections to your provider

When you import a source, load its artwork or guide, or play a stream, your Mac connects directly to the address you supplied and to the artwork addresses that provider returns. Those hosts can receive information normally included in a network connection, such as your IP address, request time, requested path, and any credentials the provider's request requires.

A Tvheadend server receives the account you entered for it: Viewaro signs in when the server asks, and sends the account with every channel you play. If the server is on your local network, macOS asks for your permission before Viewaro can reach it.

We do not control your provider and do not receive those requests. Your provider's own privacy policy and terms apply. Viewaro prefers HTTPS. When a provider address uses HTTP, Viewaro warns that the connection can expose credentials and tries the same host over HTTPS first. If the provider does not support HTTPS, Viewaro may use the original unencrypted HTTP address for a user-supplied playlist, guide, artwork, or stream. A Tvheadend server is used at the address exactly as you enter it, often an http:// address on a home network; on such an address, the password you entered is sent unencrypted each time a channel plays, and Viewaro says so before import. Use HTTPS whenever your provider or server offers it.

TV guide feeds

Where the guide comes from depends on the source:

• A guide address you entered, or a playlist's own XMLTV guide address: Viewaro connects only to that address, just as it connects to your provider.
• A Tvheadend server: Viewaro downloads the server's own guide with the account you entered and contacts no public guide publisher for it.
• A playlist without a guide address of its own, or an Xtream provider: Viewaro automatically looks for a public guide when the source is first used and when you refresh the guide. While Viewaro is open, it also looks again when the downloaded guide is more than 12 hours old or about to run out, or when an earlier attempt found none. It requests country-specific XMLTV files from open-epg.com and iptv-epg.org. Viewaro does not ask the Xtream provider for its guide.

Those publishers receive standard network information such as your IP address, request time, and the requested country file. Viewaro does not send them your provider address, credentials, channel names, or viewing history. Programme matching happens locally on your Mac, and each publisher's own privacy policy and terms apply.

Apple HLS Demo

The built-in playback demo connects directly to a public HLS sample hosted by Apple. Apple may receive standard network request information such as your IP address and request time under Apple's privacy terms.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Purchases are made through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not receive your payment card or bank details.

When subscriptions are enabled, Viewaro uses RevenueCat to validate Apple receipts and provide Premium entitlement status. RevenueCat may process:

• a randomly generated anonymous App User ID
• Apple receipt and purchase or subscription history
• device type, operating-system information, app version, and last-seen time

This information is used for purchase validation, fraud prevention, subscription functionality, and aggregate subscription analytics. Viewaro does not send source addresses, provider credentials, channel names, or viewing history to RevenueCat. We do not use RevenueCat data for cross-app advertising tracking.

Support communications

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, app version, and diagnostic details. Do not send playlist URLs, usernames, passwords, tokens, or other provider credentials.

We use support information to answer your request, investigate problems, and meet legal obligations. We retain it only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Viewaro does not include advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics in the current release. We do not track your activity across apps or websites and we do not sell personal data.

Purchase information processed by RevenueCat is used only as described in the Purchases and RevenueCat section above. This policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before any materially different analytics or third-party SDK is enabled.

Data sharing

We share information only when necessary:

• with Apple to process purchases and distribute the app
• with RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription entitlements
• with service providers used to operate the public support website or email
• when required by law or necessary to protect users, our rights, or the public

We do not give service providers permission to use Viewaro information for their own advertising.

Your choices and rights

You can remove sources and other local app data using Viewaro's controls. You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple Account settings. You can contact us to ask about support information we hold about you or to exercise rights available under applicable privacy law.

Because source and playback data remain on your Mac, we generally cannot access, export, or delete that local data remotely.

Children

Viewaro is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users are responsible for ensuring that the content they access is appropriate and lawful.

Security

We use technical measures designed to protect information, including the macOS App Sandbox, Keychain protection, and encrypted local storage for playlist addresses and account secrets. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection.

Changes

We may update this policy when Viewaro's functionality, service providers, or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page.
